Explication ']I guess T-101 is too unfamiliar to most. I live 40 minutes from Taipei and can see it on a clear day from my high-rise apartment. Eight sections (Chinese 8 stands for prosperity and furtune)and the 101 has several symbolic meanings that were considered in choosing the name: Street address, New century/millenium. 100 is "perfect" number and 1 goes one better, etc. Burj is the sultan (unfinished and without a "crown" or top spire) and just topped 101 this year, only four years after 101 was completed.
