Question

My first attempt at a tiny Enigmatic Crossword, using the no-macro tool (which I'll upload once I have enough space).

For the unfamiliar, a Yoruichi-san Enigmatic Crossword has words (primarily English) formed exclusively of atomic symbols (e.g. H, He, Li...). That is, each cell of the crossword contains exactly one atomic symbol. There are two sets of clues--the typical crossword puzzle clues ("Word clues") and the sums of the atomic numbers ("Sum clues")

15: Way to fly to Sweden

Down Word Clues

1: Sprinkling, dunking, or tossing in

2: Waferlike

3: Besame mucho!

5: A loogie

7: In the last little bit of time

8: Khufu, to his late admirers

11: Chanel, to her late admirers

4: 171

6: 227

9: 115

10: 42

13: 191

14: 191

15: 49

Down Sum Clues

1: 249

2: 150

3: 283

5: 154

8: 47

11: 41

edit: I'll be back in a few hours to start answering your guesses.

Couple things:

bathos is more of a comedic style often confused with the word I think you meant to use: pathos.

A piece of anxiety = Tenth Book (?), as in Agamemnon's anxiety? Quite a stretch if it's right. [Maybe a piece on anxiety?]

The other one I probably have wrong is loogie = rebarb.

Otherwise, nice job puting this together, gave my brain quite the workout.

That's what happens when I look at etymologies and am ignorant of the real use. I see the word "depth" in BATHOS, as in bathysphere, but, as you point out, when used literarily, it refers to literature so badly done, it's "...so sad it's funny...".

I'm glad you've enjoyed it, and you're not done: TENTHBOOK and REBARB are indeed the only errors in your solution.

Close! (my comments inside your spoiler)
