Question

My name is nothing but a jest to mark one week beyond His test

Almost

Like most.

My fingers clenched in fisted show, the ring they bring for all to know

Save me.

Why me?

A pall was cast upon this eye, the burden on my shoulders my

Worst curse.

Few worse.

I placed her petals in dirty vase and so too others in fine, bright glass

That lied.

These died.

Then slew the savior loved at first whose love of mine was his one curse

To Hell

He fell.

Yes, love is odd and so am I, but great the vision of monstrous eye

Demure,

So pure,

The heart.

And Dudley takes the prize!

Quasimodo

The Latin word means "almost like," a jest by Hugo referring to the Hunchback being almost like a human. He was discovered on Quasimodo Sunday, the Sunday following Easter. One of the most poignant symbols in the book is when The Hunchback puts two vases on the window sill of Esmeralda's room, one is of fine glass but is cracked and the flowers have withered. The other is a simply earthenware pot with lovely flowers. The good one represents the shallow man she loves and the ugly pot is Quasi.

Quasimodo eventually pushed Follio out of the tower, the man who had saved him as an infant and whom Quasi had aalways loved like a father, because Follio wanted to kill Esmeralda.

Good job. I really thought wonder would have nailed it first as he even got the name in his initial thoughts. Oh well.

Quasimodo

My name is nothing but a jest to mark one week beyond His test

Almost

Like most. - He was found at Notre Dame on Quasimodo Sunday (the 1st Sunday after Easter) and was named after the day.

My fingers clenched in fisted show, the ring they bring for all to know

Save me.

Why me? - He rang the bells but didn't hear them because he was deaf

A pall was cast upon this eye, the burden on my shoulders my

Worst curse.

Few worse. - Huge wart over his left eye and hunch backed

I placed her petals in dirty vase and so too others in fine, bright glass

That lied.

These died. - He tried to prove a point to Esmerelda by putting wilted flowers in a beautiful vase and beautiful flowers in an ugly vase. I don't think she got the point...

Then slew the savior loved at first whose love of mine was his one curse

To Hell

He fell. - Quasimodo murdered Frollo, his former benefactor, for condemning Esmerelda

Yes, love is odd and so am I, but great the vision of monstrous eye

Demure,

So pure,

The heart.
