0 Guest
'This senttence has three misteaks in it.' Can you see what they are ? Misteaks senttence the third one is that the sentence says there are three mistakes when there are only two that is the third.
0 Guest
If the third mistake is that there are three mistakes in the sentence, then the statement that there are three mistakes is true, and there are only two mistakes in the sentence. But then if there are only two mistakes in the sentence, then the the statement is in error and there are three mistakes in the sentence. But then ....We need to do a little metaphysical thinking on this one. Edited April 7, 2009 by autonav
0 Guest
If the third mistake is the number of mistakes in the sentence, wouldn't it be a paradox?
0 Guest
1. senttence is mispelled. should be sentence. 2. misteaks should be mistakes. 3. The sentence technically shouldn't be enclosed in quotation marks. And even if it was supposed to be, it should have double quotation marks like so: "This senttence has three misteaks in it." Okay, maybe I'm being picky...but still
0 Guest
I found 5 mistakes. Obviously sentence and mistakes are spelt wrong, but also, (even though I know they're supposed to be there) there wouldn't be (')s before and after the sentence. (That makes 4 so far) Then change the three to five.
0 Guest
'This senttence has three misteaks in it.' Can you see what they are ? 1) sentence is spelled wrong 2) mistakes is spelled wrong and 3) is impossible to tell since if you say that there are only 2 mistakes then your wrong because there are three. so then if you change three to two then there are only two mistakes so there for this sentence is a paradox not a puzzle. it just gets people to talk and argue over a simple silly sentence. 0 Guest
If you want to stop the paradox, just change the three to a zero after you fix the other two "misteaks" But once you put the zero there, it will be correct because NOW there are none. 0 Guest
It is not a paradox the sentence is merely inaccurate as is. It might be better if the riddle where reworded to ask if you can see the mistakes in the sentence. or... Correct them like this. Original: This senttence has three misteaks in it. First correction: This senttence has two misteaks in it. Second correction: This sentence has one misteak in it. This sentence has zero mistakes in it. Now all mistakes have been corrected AND the sentence IS accurate. This kind of riddle can be frustrating for people who have a hard time thinking outside the box.
