Guest
I'm a builder by choice, After a reasonable voice. I was indifferent and thick, and I fell for a trick. I couldn't have a half, But I atleast had a quarter. Plus four-of-a-kind with a rational mind. Before you think I will fold, just see what I hold You wouldn't trade places Cause I've two that aren't faces. What am I?

0 Guest
Hint before bed: The "four of a kind" just means that this riddle works on four different levels. And despite the easy rhyme scheme, every line does mean something.
0 Guest
I am not good in English, and morever with english social terms, so such word riddles aren't my choice. However, I would like to give a try at this just by reading "you will see what i hold before you fold", I would say it is an ENVELOPE. (The thing to hold letters)

As for fractions, when do two halves not make a whole? two halves don't make a whole when they are multiplied, divided, subtracted, or left alone. so when you don't add them
0 Guest
two halves don't make a whole when they are multiplied, divided, subtracted, or left alone. so when you don't add them I'd stick with multiplied if I were you. It might apply to this riddle.
0 Guest
I'd stick with multiplied if I were you. It might apply to this riddle. The quarter isn't a quart is half of the previously mantion "half"
0 Guest
this is a very good, confusing riddle. i haven't a clue what the answer might be. someone earlier said quarter, so it might be... a half dollar piece. it has no face on either side. 0 Guest
I thought this riddle would go better, but perhaps my clues are too vague. So in an attempt to keep this riddle alive here are some hints. There are four answers to this riddle and they all have the same name. The clues for each of the four answers are mixed together, maybe that is the problem. So, I'll tell you which phrase corresponds to which answer. I'll assign each answer a number: 1-4, with 5 relating to all the answers. In the order the lines appear in the riddle, the corresponding answers are: 1,2,2,3,3,1,5,2,4,4&3,3,5 The "quarter" refers to a person. 0 Guest
The only thing i can think of is mason. As in the brick layer, a building block itself, a "Mason" and with thier secret society referencing the faceless but I cant get the fourth reference hence I'm out in left field. Perhaps a Mason jar that holds a quart of liquid?I'm a builder by choice, After a reasonable voice. I was indifferent and thick, and I fell for a trick. I couldn't have a half, But I atleast had a quarter. Plus four-of-a-kind with a rational mind. Before you think I will fold, just see what I hold You wouldn't trade places Cause I've two that aren't faces. What am I?

0 Guest
I think I may have it. Total newbie here. Lady Liberty aka The Statue of Liberty. She had the quarter until Washington was on it. She "fell for a trick" because she was part of the disappearing magic trick by David Copperfield. The fold/hold part references the book she holds with the date of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Finally the reference to the other "two" is in reference to the other two replicas of the Statue of Liberty, I think.
