Hi, everyone. I am sure alot have already played the game "Poe Umm II" , well this is nearly the same except you may write up to 10 lines per poem.

The describers are allowed to use 1 or 2 but no more than three words for their turn. Please post message the person that you are passing to, and as usual, please use spoilers. The first on the list will create a poem and second one will describe it and so on down the list. I will give a day or so for the sign-up time that starts below this:

Frankly speaking, I love the poem written by both IDNE and Andromeda. Cool!

Nothing at all like mine began. Here is the difference: The card game solitaire,

I play this little game

I do it without shame

Placing each, in its spot (cards)

will keep you, from losing alot (placing in the correct column)

Your time will disappear (kills time)

The kind you don't hold dear (boring time is not dear to anyone)

Could be a he, (King)

or maybe a she.(Queen)

You won't be bored for long, (provided that you're winning)

It was nice to see there are poets here. I see most are free verse.

While growing up, my brothers (and sometimes sister(s) and mother and father) would sit down and participate in writing poetry. One of the "games" was to write poetry with the rhyme scheme AABBCC... etc. The first person would write three lines (AAB), the next person would only see the last line (B) and write two lines (BC), and so forth. The cycle would repeat a set number of times, with the last person writing three lines (YZZ). The poems sometimes did not make sense, but were enjoyable. And, occasionally, a gem was born.

Another challenge we often did was to chose five random words and write a poem that included the five words. We called this manner of poetry a Pentalogue (five words). Incorporating the five words was indeed a challenge, especially if one wrote with a rhyme scheme, but free verse was permitted.

I heard a GURGLE in the rain gutter.

It sounded a little ghoulish.

But, I was this rainspout's spelunker,

So I reached into the boogyman's bunker

Knowing that fright was kind of foolish.

At first it did not YIELD.

The oozing obstacle was hard to APPREHEND.

So I buttoned up my OVERCOAT

And looked deep into the monster's throat

To see what did offend.

There it was the gremlin grime,

A clog of brownish-black leaves.

Not to BRAG, it just took a rag.

Now next -- to tackle the eaves!

A third challenge was to write what may be called an ABC poem. There are (at least) two types. The first is where each line of the poem begins with a consecutive letter of the alphabet. The second, possibly more difficult in creating a gem, is to write each word beginning with consecutive letters of the alphabet.

A butterfly circled, dancing effortlessly,

Flying graciously, hailing inflorescent jewels.

Knitted lepidoterans, masqueraiding naiads,

Opening pliantly, quiescently, raddled silk threads.

Undressed -- vibrant wayfarers.

Xochipill's youthful zeal.
