nope

it's like i said before it's a compound noun it's always used around water it's clothing and it's a very general term.

after that hint i thought it might be wetsuit, but then realised that wetsuit doesn't begin with s and end with r :P

It is ok !!! After you said it was wrong, I was looking for another word s?????r and came upon slicker which means according to :

Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. 2008 is

Main Entry: slick·er Listen to the pronunciation of slicker

Pronunciation: \ˈsli-kər\

Function: noun

Date: 1881

1 [2slick] : oilskin ; broadly : raincoat

2 [slick to defraud cleverly] a (1): a clever crook : swindler (2): slickster b: a city dweller especially of natty appearance or sophisticated mannerisms

And definition 1 fits into what you were saying : it's always used around water it's clothing and it's a very general term.
