0 Guest
First of all, electric trains give no smoke. Second of all, since they don't give out smoke, the riddle itself is wrong.

Yes electric trains don't give out smoke, but this one does - it says so in the question. It gives out 2 litres every 10km - a total of 64 litres for 320km. Although of course its never as simple as that, the setter surely has some smart arsed solution, right?
0 Guest
train runs with batteries will not give out smoke as well as smoke cannot be measured by litre

You can take this riddle in two different directions. Either the author meant to mislead the reader by the wording, which means this isn't the same riddle as the other ones; or the initial wording was wrong, as I know it like this: An electric train leaves the northern side of some country heading for the south. It is driving at 180 km/h and there is a 5 km/h coming from the west. Which way will the smoke fly?

0 Guest
Well, this is the easiest riddle ever! How can it give off smoke if it runs on electricity? This is a trick question, unless the train is on fire.
0 bonanova
Suppose the electrical wiring overheats and gives off smoke? Don't assume the OP is incorrect - find a solution that fits the question. That's a word to the wise for riddleteaser, too.... <_<

Tell that to a toy train collector. Diesel-electrics belch plenty of smoke, and also have batteries.
