a simple math riddle

Question

Can anyone make 32 out of two 2s (and no other number) using purely mathematical symbols?

I won't use a spoiler to give the answer right now.

Only in the very rare case nobody comes up with an answer shall I give it.

2*2*2*2*2

2^(2*2+2/2)

did you mean something other than 32?

Hint: calculus or complicated math symbols not required. And yes, only 2 and 2, no other numbers or repititions of 2, no different base.

Explanation:

.2 = 1/5

Now "1/5th root" is really "to the power 5", isn't it?
