Question

How many 1 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot (3D)

bricks would it take to complete a building

that 20 feet long and 20 feet high on all four sides?

You mean a full enclosure, no windows or doors (since buildings have roofs and floors then calculation as follows:

Foundation:

20' of bricks x 20' of bricks = 400

Roof:

20' of bricks x 20' of bricks = 400

Walls:

4 columns @ 20 = 80

Then 4 walls at 18 feet wide 18 feet high = 1296

Total box: 2,176

If no roof, no floor:

4 walls at 18 feet wide, 20 feet high = 1,440, and 80 bricks for columns - 1,520

Not if there's nothing there now. Then it would take all 1,520 to complete it, since it hasn't been started yet.

ZERO... A building is never completed by putting the last brick in. Usually, the frame is the first to go in the electrical,plumbing,etc... so the last brick won't "COMPLETE" the building.
