0 Guest
Very good. Or maybe the riddle wasn't. Itachi-san nailed it. Care to apply each line and explain?
0 itachi-san
Sure, Treasured only when possessed like saying ignorance is bliss Esteemed by every station all walks of life respect the wise Nurtured oft at patience’s b r e a s t usually wisdom is gained through patience And o’ercome frustration also, usually wisdom is gained from overcoming a difficult problem (something frustrating) Herr Kant’s life, once organized A German philosopher I believe, though I'm not familiar with him Modesitt’s folksy clerics I think Modesitt is a sci-fi/fantasy writer and clerics are wise The state of matters realized A matter can mean a problem and wisdom lies with its solution Danger without hysterics The wise do not succumb to fear or stress when dealing with a dangerous dilemma This was a good one, the 2 things that really got me thinking wisdom were 'nurtured by patience' and 'clerics' Edited March 28, 2008 by itachi-san

0 Guest
Pretty good guys! Here's what I had in mind: Wisdom Treasured only when possessed (Only the wise realize how valuable wisdom is) Esteemed by every station (Yet everyone seems to pay homage to the concept of being wise) Nurtured oft at patience's breast And o’ercome frustration (You gain wisdom through patience and overcoming problems) Herr Kant's life, once organized (Immanual Kant once said "Science is organized knowledge, Wisdom is organized life" - a pretty famous saying.) Modesitt’s folksy clerics (DOH! I realized after I posted that I messed up the Author's name - It should have been "Jordan's folksy clerics" referring to Robert Jordan and his "wisdoms" - so embarrassing) The state of matters realized (pretty much the definition of wisdom) Danger without hysterics (again, defining wisdom)
0 itachi-san
Modesitt’s folksy clerics (DOH! I realized after I posted that I messed up the Author's name - It should have been "Jordan's folksy clerics" referring to Robert Jordan and his "wisdoms" - so embarrassing) I read all the Jordan Wheel of Time Books and there are no clerics or wisdoms in them (by exact name). Perhaps you mean the Aes Sedai or the Aiel Wise Ones?

Perhaps you mean the Aes Sedai or the Aiel Wise Ones? Not sure what you mean. The town "wisdom" played a major role in those books. That was Nynaeve's title before she became Aes Sedai, etc.

It should come out in 2009 I think. In case you didn't know already, that is.
