you have been given a electronic weight which tells u the weight of the item that u keep on it.

we have to find out who has got the packets with 9g gold coin.

How will u find it out just by weighing only once.

Easy - place all the bags on the scale and remove them one by one...

I feel like that is weighing more than once. A better way is to take 1 coin from A -2 coins from B- 3 coins from C etc up to 10 coins from J.then how ever many grams less than an even multiple of 10 tells who had the light bag.

firstly take one coin 4m each servant n mark them A,B,C...J. accordingly...weight all of them at once..now remove one coin in an order..in that u can find which has less weight...cause of the differece bfore n after removng the coins one can find out easily....hope it is corect ;)

bob624 has got right....

take 1 coin from A

2 coin from B

3 coin from C

4 coin from D etc..

now the weight should have been 1+2+3+4....+10 = 55 g

but u know that some coin is of lesses weight. so the wight will be less.

Now u can get the person who got the bag with 9 g gold coins. as if the weight is less by 4 g then 4th i.e D has the bag of 9g colg coin.

If the weight of each coin is 10 gm. then the total weight of coins taken --- one coin from A, two coins from B, three coins from C,.... and ten coins from J, will be 10+20+30+......100 = 550 gm.

When weighed on the electronic scale, the weight will be less by the (number of coins) gm' taken from the servant holding the coins with less weight, as rightly said by bobb624.
