wolfgang
13 people where in a room. They decided to shake hands according to these roles: 1- no one shake hand with the same person twice. 2- no one shake hands with anyone who is shorter than him. 3- each hand shake must last exactely 20 seconds. 4- each person in the room should be included. If they began at (8:00) O`clock p.m.,,,,when they will finish? howmany shake hands will be totally? Note:there were no two persons at that room having the same height. 0 HoustonHokie
...and they finish exactly when they began, at 8:00, having completed 0 handshakes. If no 2 people are exactly the same height, every possible handshake must contain a person who is shorter.

0 Guest
Doesn't Statement 2, 4 and the note (5) make it impossible, since 2 and 5 say that there was no hand shakes and 4 that there were (at least 8)? 0 Guest
I can awkwardly shake my own hand...so since everyone has to shake their own hand to fulfill #4, I'm going with 8:00:20, with 13 handshakes...what an awkward 20 seconds looking around with people shaking their own hands... That breaks rule 1, since you're shaking your own hand twice. =P
