Question

It’s been a long day. Sitting in your “official” office in the Anycity Police Station, you’re about to nod off. Suddenly, a young rookie, what’s his name, Benson? Yes, Benson, bursts into your office.

“Mr. Smith?” He asks incredulously. “Oh, what an honor! All the boys are talking about you, and I finally get to meet you!” He jumps to you and shakes your hand.

You smile. It’s good to know that people admire you.

“Anyway, Morris told me that Jones wants to give you this file.”

A bigger smile. Yes one of Jones’ famous files. Exactly one hundred and fifty-six files had been given to you.

“OK kid, let me have it.”

He hands it to you.

He starts to leave, obviously feeling that you need privacy.

“Hey kid…Wanna come with me? I have to go check out a little circus act down in the city.”

CASE:

The murder of John Wilkerson III

VICTIM:

John Wilkerson III, jester performing in ‘Ye Olde Renaissance Faire’. Age 32, Australian descent. No known relatives. Stabbed in the back once, but fatally.

MISSION:

Go down to the fair and find out who killed this man.

Down at the fair is the familiar yellow tape. The boy looks nervous, but you step right over it casually.

The chief organizer runs to you.

“Police? Good. I need you to help me out. Come with me to John's trailer.”

As you are walking, you ask about the place, and the people there.

“Well, there’s an authentic Renaissance Market. We modeled it after some records of them. There’s plenty of different activities, but the most famous is the joust.”

“Joust?”

“We hire out a few actors to fight our ‘King’s Knight’, our champion. It always brings in a great crowd.

We also have the royal court with the King and Queen and all members of the court. The duke, duchess, count, countess, and everyone that belongs."

“Who was on duty?”

“Well, we were practicing the joust. It’s interesting. All the ‘competitors’ had something against Mr.Wilkerson.”

You now make a list. You like lists.

SUSPECTS:

Red Knight-Had his girlfriend stolen by Mr. Wilkerson. Always enemies.

Announcer- Wilkerson managed to get a pay raise that he just let out of his grasp.

King- Was owed money

Queen- Old friend, but he broke her heart.

King’s Knight- Gambler who played games with Wilkerson, but the deceased almost killed him.

Samurai Knight- Wilkerson kicked him as he walked in the door on his first day.

You and your rookie reach the actor’s home, and take a look inside.

Inside is a cluttered mess.

You notice a coat on a wall and some bills on a sofa. There’s a coffee table with a chessboard on it. On the ground near it is a piece of paper. Benson retrieves it for you. It says “g1”. He has a kitchen table with some papers on it. You look at them. “He was an avid coin collector” you say “here are some new dollar coins.” There’s also a half-eaten sandwich with flies hovering over it and some lines from Shakespeare as a placemat. Romeo and Juliet.

“He was an interesting man” says the organizer.

“What do you think?” you ask Benson.

“I don’t know, but I have a start.”

"Good boy. I was wondering when you would figure it out."

NOW I'm getting confused

the first clue g1 states that irt must be one of the knights but the second clue states that he had money which could have been repaid by the king and at last the Shakespeare line (the most confusing ) this states that their was relation between murder and Queen)

:excl:
