Question

A farmer in a village had a beautiful piece of land .one day he decided to give it away.Many people came forward to get the land.Hence he asked them to cover maximum area by using shortest fencing .one guy was able to do that and was gifted the piece of land .You have to tell how maximum area can be covered with shortest fence?

Assumption: you must stay on the guys land at all points. If so, the biggest circle will minimize fence length. However its unclear what the relative importance is for minimal fence length or maximum area. Alternatively you could interpret "shortest fencing" to be just that. A fence that is short on the z-axis, or height off the ground. In that case, you make a fence along the border of the land in whatever shape the land is in, and you use something like a piece of string or dental floss.

I would use a short fence, maybe standing only an inch or so off the ground and cover the entire circumference of the lot. That would give you the maximum coverage, with the shortest fence. :thumbsup:
