Question

As black as night yet colder than ice,

To wither and die is all that’s left,

Alive, not for long, to be seen after death,

Among twisted steel and frozen flesh,

Where am I?

First riddle ever so my sincere apologies if it's no good.

Present future past,

It changes not throughought the age,

It's cold, it's dark lest lamp there be,

It's surely death,

Though made to keep all alive,

The main intent continues on,

I seal out light,

I seal in cold,

I freeze the flesh,

And keep it fresh,

Lest there be a friendly glow,

You're trapped until your death,

Or until a saving hand,

simply lets you go,
