They have bebies every year after they are a year old. she probably currently pregnant witht he offspring of numerous males. Since most Prairie dogs mate with more than one male per gestation period. Of course if Christine had been a rat, you could have said "Christine is 1 month old, and her mother is 4 months old" since they can breed at only 90 days old.
