The circus band stops early, the timing on her trick is thrown off, she misses her catcher, drops to the arena floor, and dies of her injuries. Seems to me that there are infinite possible solutions that can't be ruled out given what we know. The end of the world would be last on my list, but who knows? The music stopped early. My guess would be that she was "The Fat Lady"; hence, "It isn't over until the fat lady sings". If she was the fat lady and the music stopped it was because it was all over...
