Now, correct me here if I'm wrong, but don't you have to post a reply to post a poll? Once I managed poll and just tried not replying (I didn't have anything important to reply) but poll didn't show up. I'm often stuck having to make some sort of meaningless reply just so I can put up a poll. Could we maybe fix that?

The poll can be created with reply which includes answer/explication/credit to solver. I consider such post important.

hey Nick - have noticed you doing that but you do not have to reply to someone elses post to add a poll to your topic. you cannot add a poll from the "Fast Reply" dialogue box. what you need to do is click the "Use Full Editor" button just below the Fast Reply. from there you can Manage Topic Poll. Alternatively, you could continue to hit the "Add Reply" button below any post on your topic as you've been doing and simply delete the Quote before you post and add the poll/solved feature.

That I understand for a solved poll, but for a public poll I've found that sometimes the post just really wastes space. And yes, I know you can delte the green quote box.
