You ask C: "Are A and B the same type?" What does C answer? . .C says: "B is a Knave." B says: "A and C are of the same type." Of what type is A? A is a knave -- if C is telling the truth he has to be a knight and making B a knave so in order for B's statement to be a lie A has to not be the same as C so A is a knave.
