Question

Named for the first

Wherever you go

Hundreds of cycles

In column and row.

Grouped into teams

Oft coloured the same.

Hardly one in each

Will ever earn fame.

The race will begin

When flag touches ground

Millions of cheers will

Be heard all around.

You expect it to start

When the north half cools,

But location may often

Vary the rules.

Too fast or too slow,

This isn't a race;

All are required

To maintain one pace.

EDIT: Pronoun usage.

days in a calendar year? "cycles" being weeks, "teams" being the months,"the race" begins January 1st on New Years with parties ("cheering all around"), "when the north half cools" would be winter in northern hemisphere (ie: Canada etc) but for southern countries this is the opposite ("location varies the rules"), "all required to maintain one pace" would be 24 hour time frame/day.

Nice. I guess I should stick to Go.

You are totally correct.
