Question

This is my first self-written word riddle, so be gentle.

The number of seconds that exist in a year,

The number of days that Christmas holds dear,

The number of times that lupus runs free,

I may be rare now, but check history.

The Romans had uses and Tolkien did too,

Twenty four hours because I still hold true.

How 'bout just twelve or a dozen

Win

January 2nd, February 2nd (12 2nd's in a year)

12 days of Christmas

12 full moons per year

Romans and Tolkien both used the duodecimal number system

Our current 24 hour clock is here because our reckoning of time originated with 12 equal segments between sunup and sunset
