Okay, use the word in caps in a sentence. Like "This can CLEARLY be seen because of postulate blah blah etc." The person said 'clearly' because they were too lazy to write down all the in between steps.

These made me laugh. Maybe a bit too much. Two-Line proof ftw. Definitions of Terms Commonly Used in Math CLEARLY: I don't want to write down all the in-between steps. TRIVIAL: If I have to show you how to do this, you're in the wrong class. OBVIOUSLY: I hope you weren't sleeping when we discussed this earlier, because I refuse to repeat it. RECALL: I shouldn't have to tell you this, but for those of you who erase your memory tapes after every test, here it is again. WITHOUT LOSS OF GENERALITY: I'm not about to do all the possible cases, so I'll do one and let you figure out the rest. ONE MAY SHOW: One did, his name was Gauss. IT IS WELL KNOWN: See "Mathematische Zeitschrift'', vol XXXVI, 1892. CHECK FOR YOURSELF: This is the boring part of the proof, so you can do it on your own time. SKETCH OF A PROOF: I couldn't verify the details, so I'll break it down into parts I couldn't prove. HINT: The hardest of several possible ways to do a proof. BRUTE FORCE: Four special cases, three counting arguments, two long inductions, and a partridge in a pair tree. SOFT PROOF: One third less filling (of the page) than your regular proof, but it requires two extra years of course work just to understand the terms. ELEGANT PROOF: Requires no previous knowledge of the subject, and is less than ten lines long. SIMILARLY: At least one line of the proof of this case is the same as before. CANONICAL FORM: 4 out of 5 mathematicians surveyed recommended this as the final form for the answer. THE FOLLOWING ARE EQUIVALENT: If I say this it means that, and if I say that it means the other thing, and if I say the other thing... BY A PREVIOUS THEOREM: I don't remember how it goes (come to think of it, I'm not really sure we did this at all), but if I stated it right, then the rest of this follows. TWO LINE PROOF: I'll leave out everything but the conclusion. BRIEFLY: I'm running out of time, so I'll just write and talk faster. LET'S TALK THROUGH IT: I don't want to write it on the board because I'll make a mistake. PROCEED FORMALLY: Manipulate symbols by the rules without any hint of their true meaning. QUANTIFY: I can't find anything wrong with your proof except that it won't work if x is 0. FINALLY: Only ten more steps to go... Q.E.D. : T.G.I.F. PROOF OMITTED: Trust me, it's true.

    Actually, that does equal 100.

I'm definitely up for a redo.

Haha, that explains it then. I was like "...Why can't he do #7?"

    See spoiler. Nice job.

Compz got number 1, and Ionno got 2.
  13. *tackles* I've just started taking Latin. Explain the Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, and Ablative stuff?! Please. I don't get it.. (Mainly because no one's ever explained it..)

I went to a math competition today (Seven points away from getting a trophy, but I'm done ranting about that, honest), and I thought the group competition was fairly interesting, so I saved the questions. We were given up to 4 minutes to solve the questions, more points the faster you finish, but I'm not going to time you. You only have pencil and paper. No calculator. Have fun. (Mind, I don't have all the answers, but I'm sure we can figure them out amongst ourselves.) For those of you that actually want to time yourself to get a proper score, here's how it works. If you answer (correctly..) within the first minute, 16 points. Second minute, 8 points. Third 4. First 1.

Oh man, that book is excellent! Orson Scott card is one of my favorite authors.

Isn't that "Channel Nine News" though?
  17. German - I was born there, and if there's anything I can't help you with, my mom definitely can. Mathematics - 11th grade. Can help with Algebra / Geometry stuff fairly well. Science - Biology, physical science, and Earth/Space science. Biology at a middle school level, the other two at high school. History - Mostly American..

Okay, so this is the fourth day Isaac has left his gross dirty clothes all over the bathroom. Washcloth in the shower. Used my hairbrush. (Possibly my toothbrush?! I dunno.. It was wet this morning..) Arg. I miss living by myself. Boys are such slobs.

I doubt the Empire are the inactive ones. *At least* one of them would have been active and powerplayed the others. Think about it.

    Star Wars Mafia II

Andy, just power-play or give them no action if it's taking this long...* *Only if this causes me no personal harm or future handicap.

I asked if by "Classic" you meant "Classic Mafia" but you never replied. Have no excuse for missing your sig. though. Damn.
