Below are ten fairly common two word phrases to tame. Correctly interpreting each phrase may well require thinking beyond the expected/typical meaning of each. Realizing this could be quite vague, some limits have been placed on the ten answers. Each is four letters. The letters of the answers derived from 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 are mirror images of each other. The answers from 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 are synonyms.

top brass

light touch

get together

pour out

current event

pack away

throw back

show stopper

good word

double take

For a final challenge and since there are really just five answers, respond by connecting each of the five pairs of reversible words with a chain of common four letter words whereby each "link" in the chain is made by changing a single letter from adjacent words (all letters should be changed at least once).
