Question

-Up :: Down, Back :: ?

-I'm the count on which you buckle your shoe.

-space, over, out of, and place

add either bookend to find me.

-Now shut the door...

-A female fox in a black and white game.

Pretty common phrase, take each line individually, then put them all together at the end.

Have fun :)

Also, please let me know if this doesn't constitute a riddle, per se. I'd hate to have it locked just because I misunderstand.

ok so far I've got

1:Forward

2: 2

3: no idea

4: close

5:vixen

Am I even close?

#2 is right. and vixen is only half the answer for #4. I will say that #2 & #4 are somewhat related...

D'oh... I'm blaming the hour...

The first line should read Up::Down, Front:: ?

Because of my error, I will give you #1

back

Closer, a lot closer

1=back

2=2

3=wrong, sorry

4=kind of..pick one

5=Chess_Vixen, me! yes!!

James FTW!!

Up::Down, Front:: Back

The count on which you buckle your shoe = 2 (1,2 buckle your shoe...)

space, over, out of, and place= work

(by bookends, I simply meant a word that could go on either side of the given words to form another word or phrase--Workspace, Overwork, out of work, workplace)

Now shut the door = 4 = for (taking from #2, 3,4 shut the door..)

A female fox (vixen) in a black and white game (chess) = Chess_Vixen, me!

Back to work for me!
