IMPORTANT NOTE - this one is different to my previous riddles as I am trying smething new. Namely, the riddle has two perfect solutions that fit each clue perfectly. The two answers have nothing to do with one another but when you get them both, one will somehow explain something about the other. The final answer is thus a composition of the two. So solve the riddle once, solve the riddle twice, then tell me what the final answer is.

The stage part is obvious,

Can play either role,

Enhances human emotion/ characteristics, etc,

Sings and dances,

and performs in front of lights

it's very nice thinking and you should further explore that path but that's not the answer. i am looking for something that really fits each reference.

I have already given you one - the title of the riddle

I actually used to box (Dad thought it a good idea being a hockey player) bring your face close in a match and trust their will be some enhancements

I actually used to box... (Dad thought it a good idea being a hockey player) trust me bring your face close in a fight and you'll get some physical enhancements.

to enhance can also just mean to increase - swollen eye, swollen lips - they are thus enhanced

because it is of course possible someone comes up with a third solution I didn't see. That would make the riddle weaker.

This is why I thought water, since you were curious how I reasoned:

Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Stage! --> since water can put on a show (and shows happen on water)

When the latter, I'm at rest, when the first - simply the best -->works because still/unmoving water isn't showy/commanding, but when water is "the Master" is isn't still...thinking rain or a waterfall...
