Question

Here's another WAI. I think this is simple. :P

WAI # 3

Together we are separate,

Simultaneous and Alternate.

We move round and round,

According not to the sound.

I sit, she spins.

She's lame, I win.

I'm king, she's queen,

Our children are more than fifteen.

When we are one, they dread,

Like they have seen the risen dead.

But when I escape our lock,

They rejoice in utter shock.

When she is one with the child,

They immediately run wild.

But when she runs from the prison,

They all scream for salvation.

Who are we? And Why?

Good one, En Rui, me likey!

He's the nucleus. She's the electron(s).

And since the OP asked to also explain why:

Spoiler for Method behind my madness:

Together we are separate, - they're together yet separate as an atom

Simultaneous and Alternate. - opposite charges

We move round and round, - well, if you go by Bohr's model... although I prefer quantum clouds myself

According not to the sound. - (?) too small for such things as sound waves maybe

I sit, she spins.

She's lame, I win. - nucleus sits, electrons orbit

I'm king, she's queen,

Our children are more than fifteen. - definitely >15 elements

When we are one, they dread,

Like they have seen the risen dead. - are you referring to the strong nuclear force of the neutron?

I don't think that an electron-proton collision will lead to annihilation like an electron-position will.

But I could be wrong about that. Not a physicist.

But when I escape our lock,

They rejoice in utter shock. - would have a positive charge

When she is one with the child,

They immediately run wild. - and we have electricity on a wire

But when she runs from the prison,

They all scream for salvation. - but be careful, it can shock you if it jumps off the wire

Hahaha...I like this train of thought as well...But Plasmid, unfortunately, it isn't the answer to the riddle.

Anyway, here's another hint:

It doesn't dwell TOO MUCH on science.
