Question

Guest

A certain state of mind, a trick of the brain,

A spark of ideas for someone sane.

Not something you eat, but a special brew.

Elusive, sly, and just for you

There is a one in charge of me,

Who thinks and tweaks and arranges me.

Yet, I am his slave, so to speak,

And, without him, I am weak.

The answer to this clue is found,

When he and I are both around.

Please tell me what you think. I think it's my best, anyway.

does it have anything to do with any mental function?

It does indeed. But does it follow that it is one? Not so much

I don't want to mislead you, though. i would steer away from that train of thought.

the hidden meaning??

no

I'd like to specify, that there are two words in the answer. Hence: "The answer to this clue is found, when he and I are both around."

And the first word

Riddle

has already been discovered.

riddle master??

Yay! That is right!!! I'm so excited! I finally had a really (I thought) good riddle, which took some time and thought, but was somewhat get-able.

By the way, I wanted to say, this riddle was written "In praise of....Shakee," my inspiration, created by jeasousy of his genious in riddlemaking.
