If a well meaning riddler posts a riddle on the internet for the masses to enjoy…..

How many ignoramuses will post topics trying to pick apart the riddle like “how could two cars possibly leave two different cities at the same exact time, wouldn’t there surely be some minute difference?.” Or “how could you pour exactly one pint from one container to another, wouldn’t there surely be a drip or some liquid residue left inside the original container?”

5. Nit-picking about wording of others' OPs. When solving a riddle, treat the OP as if it has a solution, and then try to find it.

The idea is to find a solution that fits the question without violating any of the conditions. If you would have worded it differently, think it's trivial or it just isn't your cup of tea, let it go and try a different riddle.

Also, please understand that BrainDen is an international community. English is not the primary language of all of our members.

Be considerate of that fact, and if something is not clear, simply ask: "By _____, do you mean _____? or perhaps ____?

We're always happy to clarify, and you'll be doing a service to other solvers as well.

4. Basic etiquette - no insulting, disrespectful posts, flame wars, inappropriate words, etc. Otherwise account might be deleted without notice. Basically - don’t be a jerk.

Im new to this, so I went and read the rules, I found this. According to their rules, that type of harrassment is nit-picking, bad etiquite, could be concidered disrespectful, but its definantly in the "jerk" catagory, and should not be tolerated. But im sure some gets thru. And just to think......I found all this by reading the rules......try it.
