To explain my previous question...

Brian is watching a movie.

The large room is a theater.

The bright light is the projection of the movie.

The familiar face is an actress he knows.

The killer wasn't talking to him.

The light went dim, because the movie ended.

Brian went home!

Only problem I had with this riddle was that if the man in the armor is talking to someone, about killing the actress, who was he talking to? If it was in a movie, it was unlikey he would be talking to the audience surely?

I left out a few details for imagination's sake, like what else happened in the movie, and who the armored guy is talking to. There was a 3rd person in the scene, but I just left out anything he said. Also, I was thinking that the actress on screen wasn't a friend of Brian, but rather a well known actress that Brian has "known" for years through watching her in movies.

Brian works for an international crime syndicate, similar to "Chaos", but without the charm. Anyway, the secretary, who he's known for several years, made a grave mistake. She exited an elevator on the wrong floor of the underground lair in which she, and indeed Brian worked. It was a mistake that was to cost her life. Instead of hurrying into the level 3 ladies toilets, she barged into the room directly below on level 4. That room (a very large one) was occupied by "The Boss", who was in a meeting with one of the salesman from the armored clothing manufacturers, "ARMmanee" (The Boss actually had the appointment marked in his diary for the following day and was just asking the salesman why he was there. Turns out the salesman's "friend" was a small budgie used for demos of the company's gas masks and the Boss had delegated the responsibility of testing the equipment to his number 2, "Oreye", hence the misheard "Oreye will kill your friend")

Unimpressed with the intrusion, especially when it became apparent why our secretary was in such a hurry, "The Boss" did the only thing he could - consult his disciplinary manual.

Unfortunately, soiling the boss' carpet amounted to gross misconduct, the punishment for which was death. Brian, who was head of HR, was summoned to act as a witness. Having written most of the procedures for the organisation, Brian was impressed to see them being carried out to the letter, including the shining of light into the victim's face to ensure that the photo for the personnel file was correctly exposed.

After the Boss' shooting of the secretary, Brian was asked to remain because one of the stipulations in his own procedue called for a witness to watch the body until removal by henchmen. The duty done (including the henchmen's extinguishing of the light), Brian left the room, by which time it was 5'oclock and time to leave the lair before traffic became to heavy.

The following day, back in HR on the 2nd floor, Brian recounted the incident with some pride. Hiis coworkers (some of whom were his closest friends) were suitably impressed that an untested procedure had run so smoothly, so gave him a small golf clap of appreciation.

There - is that the answer?
