Question

here is another rhyming riddle I wrote this morning. Tell me what you think:

As a Captain leads his ships, so do I lead the way.

By humbling myself before you, respect do I pay.

I was there before bullets, and bombs in the air,

I am there when little girls put ribbons in their hair.

what am I?

Bow

Bow, and you were right!

As a Captain leads his ships, so do I lead the way.

(of the stern, port, and starboard and bow, the Bow is the front of the ship)

By humbling myself before you, respect do I pay.

(In many parts of the world you pay respect by bowing before others, not by shaking hands)

I was there before bullets, and bombs in the air, (bows and arrows were the projectile weapons of warfare before modern arms)

I am there when little girls put ribbons in their hair. (she ties it into a bow)

what did you think of it?
