andromeda woke up and crawled out of the rumble on their ship to see woon sitting by a fire

"What happened?" asked andromeda.

"We wrecked"

"What about the others?"

"They took the life boats and left us for dead"

"I guess that's what we get for joining a bunch of pirates."

Just then andromeda caught a glimpse of a silver box laying farther on down the beach

When she got up to investigate she saw it was the safe that held the treasure.

Andromeda yelled excitedly, "WOON, COME QUICK! WE'RE RICH! RICH!

woon sprinted over and helped dig it out of the sand. On the front of the

safe they found a 9X9 pad of keys with letters letters below them them.

Woon to one look at it wrote in the sand. then popped it open.

this is my first attempt at this kind of puzzle, so woon please don't actually solve it that fast.

So if you read it going down, it says "To find the key word, check bottom boxes. Rut [sic] the number in box."

So the bottom boxes say "AVENVQRXA," which means absolutely nothing.

*sigh* Just tell us what it's supposed to be.

You corrected the grid to add a 1, this means the sentence reads "To find the key word, check bottom boxes put the number in box 1"

So the question is what is the number? Earlier you mentioned that 9 was one of the numbers to find, the the box number is the other, then does this mean put '9' in box '1'?

Alternatively, looking at the letters in the bottom boxes I can only make either 'seven' or 'one'

But either way I don't see two steps

you need to find a letter, then take the number that the letter is on.(look at the the word treasures)

) forms the letter W, and there is only one W in the letter grid, which corresponds to button number 8 in row 5, column 3. Pushing that button will open the safe, which could have been accomplished by my original solution on the 39th try.

Good elements to the puzzle, but execution was off, the hint didn't make much sense, and it's really impractical for a safe to have a one-digit combination to open it, especially with 81 keys. Looking forward to the next one though!

andromeda quickly push woon out of the way. "I'll take it from here woon", said andromeda with an evil smirk.

she swung open the big safe door.

when andromeda saw what was inside, she her face turned dark red

"what is it", woon asked while getting up.

she said nothing back, and when woon looked he just laughed.

"no wonder the safe was so easy to open, all there is is a note." woon chuckled

"HOW IS THAT FUNNY. WHERE IS MY TREASURE!!!" andromeda screamed.
