As you say something different, it looks like it might have something to do with prime numbers, obviously. But you may be sly. From a keyboard perspective, each letter corresponds to the number of keys left from Fn, starting with shift. If so, F = 8.

Same idea, figure out how the letter are coded:

W is 11

B is 7

P is 3

What is F?

F=9

How many keys in that row, right to left, to reach the desired key.

For W, start with /

For P, same thing

For B, start with Right Shift

EDIT: So that only holds true for W and P, but if you start on Right Shift, B is only the 6th letter--unless my Dell Laptop keyboard is configered differently

EDIT: I realized I may be wrong--see spoiler for explanation

After seeing the OP for 'Letters' I determined that diagonal letters were possible (not just sticking to one row).

From the \ key (located above Enter on my keyboard), F is equal to 9.

This holds true for P and W as noted above, as well as for B.

Still the wrong key. And by my count, B would be 8 keys away from \.

Spoiler for hint:

Counting begins from the same key for all of the letters

F = 8

If you start with the "Enter" key, the P is 3 keys away, the W is 11, the B is 7 and the F is 8. Now, this may only be true on a standard desktop keyboard because the "Enter" key is double wide.

Very good puzzle.

I think I got it!

You start counting from the enter key only along the one line of letters

W - enter ' ; l k j h g f d s - 11

P - enter ' ; - 3

B - enter ' ; l k j h - 7

F - enter ' ; l k j h g - 8

Or you don't start with enter but the little ' thingamabob because the enter key has an arrow pointing at it!

' is probably the stating point! :)

Dang! BeastMaster beat me to it! I had to change the keyboard from Serbian to English so I made a lot of mistakes while typing! <_<

Nice puzzle! My explanation is more elaborate though! :D

When you count away from something, you begin with the next one. Count 3 numbers after 4: 5, 6, 7.

Congratulations everyone. Next one going up. Prepare yourselves, this one takes some tough thinkin'.
