Question

Jack and Jill got two new top of the line GPSs.

Jack being old school, set his GPS to measure in Degrees and Jill set hers to measure in Miles.

Jack and Jill had a race.

Both starting at 1st and Main in Hometown USA, Jack went 10 degrees South, 10 degrees West, 10 degrees North and 10 degrees East at 50 miles an hour.

Jill went 100 miles North, 100 miles East, 100 Miles South and 100 miles West at 100 miles per hour.

Who got back to 1st and Main first?

Enjoy!!

Even though Jill traveled shorter distance, she did not make it back to the point where she started. Being in the Northern Hemisphere, the Eastward degrees are shorter further up North.

So Jill ended up East of where she started.

It's a basic physics problem that can be clouded with a lot of details but with a simple answer!!

Nice Job!!
