He did say something

A man come to court and the judge tells him to make a statment. If the statement is the truth he will put him in jail for over 20 years. If the statement is a lie he will torture him for 3 years. After the staement the judge lets the man free. What did he say?

The man said "You will torture me"The judge would say that he was telling the truth and send him to jail for 20 years. But that would mean he is telling a lie. So if the judge put him in the torture room he would be telling the truth. So he decided to let him free.
