0 bonanova
if Einstien says that it take an infinite amount of energy to reach the speed of light how can (energy equals matter times the speed of light squared or E=MC2) be true In the first case we're talking about accelerating something that has nonzero mass to the speed of light. It's not a simple matter [no pun intended], since mass increases without bound as that speed is approached. Thus increasing the required accelerating force without bound. In the second case, he asserts the equivalence of mass and energy. In a nuclear reaction where the final particles are less massive than the initial ones, energy is given off. The amount of that energy is given by the decrease in mass multiplied by the square of the speed of light. Are you asking whether these statements form a contradiction? They don't because [1] they concern different things, and [2] ... uh ... oh yah, Einstein is way smarter than either of us, and he wouldn't say contradictory things. 0 Guest
close but you missed the point yes to a point but the energy required to accelerate stays the same unless drag is increased you are in the same thinking that has forced us to stay on this planet just look at the photon it maintains the speed of light until it impacts a object. last is all things are interconnected the solution to the dilemma is in string theory
0 Guest
the solution to the dilemma is in string theory There is no dilemma regarding e = mc^2 or what Einstein said about it taking an infinite amount of energy to accelerate an object to the speed of light. If you're asking "how can light go the speed of light" then the answer is that photons are massless. Particles with mass can not reach light speed. If you're asking something else, please rephrase your question and watch the run-on sentences.
