On a warm late-summer afternoon, Y-san and PG were out for a walk around the campus of Redrum University. As they passed by the fountain in the middle of campus, they noticed a strange object lying in a ditch. Upon further inspection, they discovered that it was Frozen, dead. His skin had a bluish tint, and later on the police autopsy would confirm that he had died of hypothermia. The ditch was bone dry.

Frozen had last been seen ten minutes prior to the time the girls discovered his body. He had visiting Redrum University campus nominally to visit some of his acquaintances. Police investigation later revealed that actually he had been blackmailing these people, threatening to reveal their secret Mafia identities. The suspects were: GC, BL, JS, and Nayana.

GC had been working in the kitchen for his summer job.

BL was doing summer research in the Biology department, dissecting fruit flies.

JS had been working as on his summer project testing different refrigerants.

Nayana had been doing summer research in the Physics department, on superconductors.

Y-san frowned after the police arrested the guilty party on her suggestion. She hated losing a player!

It sounds like a tongue twister almost. Like, frozen french fries freeze friday's in february, or something like that.

GC...after all, this person (don't know if it's a he or she) was working in a kitchen...usually kitchens have freezers, especially big walk in ones like on campuses...

i'm probably wrong though...i'm new at this brain teaser stuff!

Lol, sorry, busy with like a billion other things...anyways, LIS got it,

To make a metal super-conduct you need to super-cool it, and the usual method is with LN (liquid nitrogen). The liquid nitrogen would freeze-kill someone really quickly (since Frozen was seen only 10 minutes before his body was found) and evaporate quickly at room temperature, leaving the ditch "bone dry" as stated in the problem.

Who froze Frozen?

BL had brought with him gigantic fruit-flies with hairy legs from Affinion 7 and these had to be stored in a huge freezer. Frozen has playfully removed them which made BL very angry and he put Frozen into the freezer instead.
