0 Guest
For #2 I think "dreams" works better than "a bed," although I think "a bed" is definitely an acceptable answer... Edited March 14, 2008 by kdawghomie
0 Guest
Munkifisht, In response to your Personal Message to me, Martini correctly answered all of the riddles in post #2. The answers are: 1. A splinter (sliver) 2. A bed 3. A wristwatch (watch) (waistclock) (pocketwatch) 4. Hydrogen I only take credit for writing number 4, as I had heard the other 3 elsewhere. 0 Guest
I know it's a bed, but I don't like the last line. Lots of people have very nice and/or antique beds, which they very well might like to keep in the family forever.

0 Guest
I think the answer to number 2 is dreams I have a comment on #2 as well: "Born long ago, but made YESTERDAY" - did the person not sleep last night? Maybe it should be made TODAY (as in this morning). Also, as written, I think The Moon would fit (and is a slightly more 'riddle-ish' answer). The moon was "born" long ago, rose last night (hence yesterday), none would wish to give it up, yet few would wish to keep it forever (i.e., have eternal night). The bed answer is good too though, I did not get it. I was close on #4 - I thought combustion since the products are carbon dioxide and water. 0 Guest
Thanks for the comment Hoj. The first three are all traditional riddles that have been around for a long time, I only wrote #4, so I'd say if you can fully support a different answer then it's probably equally valid.
