Question

once upon a time a villger had a stone of 40kgs

which broke into 4 pices

after some days he starterd a business

and did sold all the commodities between 1 to 40kgs(not in fractions)

he just used those 4 pices to take measurment.

he got all the values by adjusting thise stones

tell me the weight of those 4 pcs.

1, 3, 9, and 27.

You can generate any integer between 1 and 40 using these numbers. The trick is to remember that he's using a balance where you place weights on both sides, so you can add AND subtract.

1=1

2=3-1

3=3

4=3+1

5=9-3-1

up to

39=27+9+3

40=27+9+3+1
