Question

You are in Room-A with 3 switches for 3 "200 Watt" light bulbs which is in the adjacent room, Room-B, but the light bulbs are not visible from Room_A and the connector door to the next room is a one way door.

So now you have

3 switches labeled A, B and C and

3 light bulbs labeled X, Y and Z.

The condition is that you cannot re-enter Room-A once you exit from it.

Your Objective is -

Which switch is for which bulb ?

1 . Press switch A and switch it off after some time .

2 . Press switch B and let the corresponding bulb burn .

3 . Exit room A and enter room B .

The bulb burning would be the one connected to switch B .

The bulb corresponding to Switch A , would be slightly hot .

The remaining bulb is the one connected to switch C .

Actually I have heard this somewhere . ;)

Sorry , just searched . This one's already posted many times I think . Search for bulbs would do the trick . :)

EDIT : Welcome to the den , Ben !(Missed the welcome part) . ;)

This has already been posted here in various forms. What you do is:

Leave switch A alone. Turn switch B on for a while, then turn it off. Turn switch C on. Go into Room-B.

bulb controlled by switch A=cold bulb

bulb controlled by switch B=hot bulb

bulb controlled by switch C=on bulb

just switch ON one of the switches say B and OFF it after 5 min. then turn ON the switch C and enter in room_B.

In room_B the bulb whitch is glowing is for switch C, the bulb whitch is hot but not glowing is for switch B,and last bulb is for switch A
