Question

Since I am not a parent myself, I feel I am in an ideal position to observe the actions of parents, and where they seem to go wrong, and I have noticed that on the whole, parents seem to have things backwards...

They spend the first months of a child's life teaching them to walk and talk, then spend years trying to tell the kid to sit down and be quiet

They teach the child to tell the time from the hands on a clock, then, when the child has mastered this act, they buy the kid a digital watch.

Plus, the things parents say to kids just don't make sense half the time

'If you fall and break both your legs don't come running to me'

'Children are meant to be seen and not heard, now get out of my sight'

'I don't want to hear another word from you, now what happened?'

Think about this, think also about your childhood, and think how many phrases you heard, which, when you look back on them now, just don't make any sense at all, if you are a parent, think about some of the things you say to your children, and how many of those just don't make sense when you think about them. You will see I have a point.
