I think so here's another update: Jane- "toad code" can't be the answer b/c it's in the clue ("decoder") ...although I like the rhyme IMLRG- I think I can take "joke bloke" for #4 cryptic chic- I really like the idea, but as you pointed out, it might not work b/c of tense. but I might include it anyway b/c it's so original Yoruichi-san- 2. "grind/bind"- I like it, another pt. 4. "sneetch teech" very creative... I'll take it! 6. "hand land" not quite sure 13. speeder beater & sprinter center are sort of off-rhymes, but I think I'll take them.

0 Guest
Ok, about most recent answers: Yoruichi-san: 2 pts for horse/morse and plant/grant (both were my original answers ) IAmCelery: not sure about "Sly fly". also, "honey money" is a hinky pinky, while the Q asks for a hink pink. however, 1 pt for "Growing Boeing" (what I had originally ) also, if you can explain why a runner is a "humper", might take it. so, there are 3 Qmarks remaining. if not guessed by tomorrow (I'm off to bed soon! ), I'll post them in spoilers. 0 Guest
here's another update and score: Yoruichi-san: 2. trite/write and droll/scroll definitely work. dead/read does, too, if you mean "read" in past tense (so it rymes better ) so, 3 (more) pts 4. fame/name (he's famous, it's a pen name?)- yeah, I guess it works. stretching it? jk. 1 pt. 13. rusher/gusher- interesting. yes, I think it also works. 1 pt. cryptic chic: Cheetah Beater- sort of off-rhyme... oh wait, I'm going off stupid American pronunciation! (which by the way I hate, & yet speak anyway) I suppose for Brit or Aussie eng., it's a perfect rhyme... so, never mind! 1 pt. Lost in Space: who/zoo works. 1 pt. DOC/MOCK? b/c he's not really a doctor? creative... unfortunately, "dr." is in the clue. whine/sign for boring book? yes, I think it works. another point. So, new standing: 1. sword hoard (jane) 2. stale tale (chaelpaddy)/ grind bind (yoruichi-san)/ trite write (yoruichi-san)/ droll scroll (yoruichi-san)/ dead read (yoruichi-san)/ whine sign (lost in space)/ ? 3. birch perch (starfish) 4. joke bloke (imlrg)/ sneetch teach (yoruichi-san)/ fame name (yoruichi-san)/ who zoo (lost in space)/ ? 5. fox box (cryptic chic)/ bird word (yoruichi-san)/ horse morse (yoruichi-san) 6. crop prop (cryptic chic)/ plant grant (yoruichi-san) 7. fickle pickle (chaelpaddy) 8. caring herring (starfish) 9. mango tango (starfish) 10. whiner liner (jane)/ flyer crier (yoruichi-san)/ growing Boeing (IAmCelery) 11. hansom ransom (yoruichi-san)/ capture stature (cryptic chic) 12. sandal vandal (dawh) 13. racer pacer (yoruichi-san)/ speeder beater (yoruichi-san)/ sprinter center (yoruichi-san)/ rusher gusher (yoruichi-san)/ cheetah beater (cryptic chic)/ ? 14. aerosol parasol (starfish) 15. But I really don't get your answer for #4. Can you explain? well, Dr. Seuss books are some of the earliest many children read, and their first (extensive) intro. to rhyming. so- prime rhyme. as for procrastinating (which I personally cannot live without ), besides the fact that there is soooooo much on this site already ... anyway, I'm working on Hinkety Pinkety 3, and until then I'll post a couple other riddles which might occupy a little bit of your time Edited June 27, 2008 by engspangussian
