Illustrate=To explain(brief) ropey=sort of constricted(short(brief)) EDIT: Puppy , unmoved does fit . Sorry, GC, brief isn't the answer. Too tenuous. As for "unmoved", it has to have very distinct meanings and ring my bell into the bargain to get points. So, keep trying but I'm afraid I can't give you that one. Well done SpunkCanon, leaderboard coming up...

0 Guest
2) body and nose: "trunk" 8) remains calm: "rest""still" I don't disagree with your answers, but I would argue that "aroma" and "settle" respectively are just as appropriate for each of these clues. I'm not necessarily concerned with points, just wondering why you disagree. Is it simply because they're not the ones you had in mind? 0 Guest
They don't quite click Trunk could act as a direct word-for-word substitute for both 'body' and 'nose'. If you're thinking wine, then aroma can't replace both body and nose, but only one of them. Similarly for settle. "Are you going to eat the ______ of last night's curry?" works equally well with "rest" and "remains". If the clue were "remain calm" then you'd have a point but it's a different part of speech Just my 2c. Meanwhile, still working on Number 9 on and off, but my thoughts are a little sketchy! I'm not necessarily concerned with points, just wondering why you disagree. Is it simply because they're not the ones you had in mind? It's because there are two very distinct meanings: "trunk" meaning an elephant's nose, "trunk" meaning a body "still" meaning calm, and "still" meaning remaining as in "9 is still unsolved" "rest" meaning calm, "rest" meaning remains (noun) as in "the rest have been solved"
