Each day @ 7pm a 46 year old man leaves his apartment on the 30th floor and catches the lift to the ground floor. He then leaves for work.
At 6pm the man returns to his apartment block and re-enters the lift to go back to his 30th floor apartment.
However each day during the upward (return) journey without fail the man gets out of the lift at the 19th floor and proceeds to take the stairs for the remainder of the journey.
The man does not know anyone on the 19th floor whom he wishes to visit / see, he doesn't do this to keep fit and nor is it due to the fact that the lift doesn't work as he catches it each morning on the 30th floor.
Why is it he exits the lift at the 19th floor each day to take the stairs?
