But, hexadecimal is also used for colours. #2B0000 equates to a dark brown colour, so maybe she is asking which version of Hamlet to take out, the black or the brown? FF is the answer (the question was asked in hex so it makes sense for the answer to be in hex too). Give the man a sticker.
