I have a photocopier which has seven buttons, each button can reduce or enlarge the area of a printed image. The area of the copy as a percentage of the area of the original is specified on each button:
50% 75% 80% 100% 120% 125% 150%
Question: I want to make a smaller copy of a picture of a cat. I frist copy the picture by pressing the 80% button, then i copy the copy using the 50% button button. What is the area of the second copy as a percentage of the area of the original picture?
Question 2: I want to enlarge the original picture of the cat. In doing this i dont want to copy more than three times. What's the closest I can get to an enlargement that is 200% of the size of the original picture?
