Question

If a penny costs 2.3 cents to make, why is it still only worth a penny?

If the cops arrest a mime do they tell him he has the right to remain silent?

If quitters never win, and winners never quit, than who is the fool who said, "Quit while you're ahead"?

Why do croutons come in airtight packages? It's just stale bread.

Why is jack a nickname for John?

Can you be a closet claustrophobic?

Why does glass eventually get thicker towards the bottom?

If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?

Why do scientists call it research when they are looking for something new?

If the land is free, why is someone always trying to sell me something?

Yeah, I read that about the penny the other day. Read something about not producing it anymore or using cheaper metals, and saving taxpayers some $100M. I say take penny out of circulation - round all transactions DOWN to consumer, let companies not only report adjusted cost (adjusted to reflect actual money received, not actual cost), but also to claim those aggregate cents lost as tax write off. Consumer wins, company comes really close to breaking even.

It wasn't always this way. There have been debates about getting rid of the penny due to the cost, but those stubborn Americans, who don't want to switch to the metric system, who are resistant to change.

I think I do missunderstand something, was he saying the answers were not persuasive/changeable/style or the original information. Took rhetorical to be persuasive and 'assumed' he meant his OP.

Please correct me if you see something I'm missing - explain rhetoric if you wish Ploper, it's one of those 'odd' words for me.

Did ask Jordanmax a question too, which he may want to empahsise or elaborate his post. Don't like to think I have offended anyone.

My guess is he was telling everyone the questions weren't meant to be answered and thought rhetorical meant the opposite of what it means.
