Guest
In the year 1926.. An intelligent young man was just reading the local newspaper.. After reading the headline of the newspaper.. He was so suprised , that he actually panicked.. The Headline that he read was this : "A legendary marine , hero from World War I , who has been loyal to this country for many years dies in a car crash under mysterious circumstances.." What makes the young man so suprised from that headline?
0 Guest
In 1926 there had only been one World War, and thus there was no need to call it World War 1.
0 Guest
World War 2 didn't start until 1939, the title says World War 1. He's surprised because the headline infers another World War has happened. Edited August 26, 2011 by TheRogue
0 Guest
Probably he himself was the legendary marine of the world war and he was reading about his own death. That was why he panicked, possibly someone trying to murder him!
0 Guest
I think that if he/she is marine, he/she would not be on land.
0 Guest
Nevermind, this was my guess BEFORE I reread the bit at the beginning saying "in 1926" I was confused and foolish. World War I ended in 1918. To have been part of it, let's assume the guys was at least 15 (lied about his age). That would make him 108. Probably older. The RECORD for the oldest person is currently at 115. Edited August 26, 2011 by Shadlyn
0 Hidden G
as shankingdavid said that it's not until 1939 meaning when we had the WWII that the first world war was called WWI
