I startled Shadlyn near the porch yesterday. We both got all tense, and then I ran away. She read up on me and then wrote this rhyme; I fled down a hole after doing my mime. I’m like a baby without a rattle, But I pretend; please don’t run and tattle. I’m killed for being who I never was, For venom never graced these jaws. Feedback on your theory (This narrows the field quite a bit, so don't look if you don't want information outside the original riddle.) You're in the right type, but wrong specific species.
