Hotel Manager: our policy is - clear your account on daily basis, no credit. Only cash, no card.

Tourist: but I dont have cash.

HM: thats not my problem

T: how about this chain of golden rings?

HM: ya, each ring is equivalent to our one day's charges

T: ok, this chain has seven rings, and I am going to stay for seven days. At chek out, I will give this ring to you

HM: no credit, you need to give this in advance

T: you dont believe me, how can I beleive you?

HM: ?

T: ok. I will cut a ring daily and clear your balance.

HM: after you cut the ring, its value will go down - not acceptable.

T: whatif I cut only one ring, leaving all other 6 intact?

HM: I can allow that concession, but how will it help?

The tourist smiled, and stayed happily for a week.

Day 1: he gives the single cut ring

Day 2: He asks the single cut ring from manager and gives him the two-linked rings.

Day 3:He gives the single cut ring (total -3 rings)

Day 4:He gives teh single chain consisting of 4 rings and takes the three rings that he had given previously

Day 5: he gives the single cut ring (total :5 rings)

Day 6:he takes the single cut ring back and gives the two-liked rings (total=6 rings)

Day 7: He gives the single cut ring(total =7 rings)

In this way he pays for all the 7 days that he stayed
